Drew’s existence was a dull, tedious, and disappointing struggle as he fought through the banality of life. Moody, jaded, and despondent, Drew’s only claim to happiness was the joy he found playing D&D with his friends. Wanting to celebrate the coming black moon’s quinquennial alignment and the ritual of Samhain in a dramatic fashion, Drew buys an ancient tome from a rare books store. Their night of playing D&D kicks off in its usual fashion but with a dramatic flair until Drew reads from the tome. A swirling, luminous vortex opens and sends the teens scrambling for safety. It’s not until they escape the magical portal’s clutching grasp that they discover Drew is gone. The portal had taken him!
Whisked away to a magical world, Drew finds himself in the hands of evil creatures that are bent on taking him to their dark master, who has plans of his own for the portal. Drew’s friends scramble to find a way to save him from the monsters, but it might be that the monsters need saving from Drew.
The Portal eBook Brock Deskins
The reluctant heroes deliver on personality, changing as needed in the face of adversity. The only complaint is that it was too short. There's room to continue the story, while maintaining a high level of excitement and action. More character growth is still possible without being overdone.Product details

The Portal eBook Brock Deskins Reviews
Great read. Take a group of teens, throw in an old incantation book, a game of D and D. Open a portal to another world, and let the fun begin. Drew is taken captive, and he is having fun with that. His friends equip themselves, and follow him for a rescue, See how they fair in their quest to rescues Drew. See how Drew torments his captors. Only time I have feel a bit bad for a goblin, but what Drew does is so funny.
Quick and fun read, descriptive, humorous and adventurous.
I enjoyed this book for the authors wit and timely responses from the characters. It is a fun read and would be good for teen readers.
What an adventure! A group of kids head out and experience more than they were expecting. Drew's actions are priceless!
If you like magic, and adventure you should read this book. There are a few typos, but I enjoyed the story!
